2012 Seam Mourvedre
Out of barrel this wine tasted more like Bandol (the amazing region in the south of France that is the home of this grape), than anything I’ve ever had before. Once bottled I was surprised by the amount of fruit that jumped to the forefront..not unpleasant, but different then in barrel. As the wine has aged in bottle a bit it’s become a little more soft, there are still earthy flavors, but this wine is about fruit. Picked at 23.5 brix with an overnight cold soak and spending 9 months in neutral oak we bottled 168 cases of this crowd pleaser.
